Thanksgiving Mantel

I got my Thanksgiving Mantel up over a week ago but have not had the time to make the post. So here it is finally!! I love that I went simple with this one!

I was going to create my own Thanksgiving Subway Art. I have enjoyed making my Fall Subway Art and My Halloween Subway Art. But then Jamie over at Eighteen 25 made her Thanksgiving Subway Art and I just loved the colors so I went with that one! You can find the subway art here and Jamie also has a second color combo available!

I love the traditional Orange and Brown but I really like the addition of the blue!! So I printed the subway art put in my frame and then added my painted vase to the mantel. I then painted 4 smaller vases in the 4 colors from the subway art. I have candles in the smaller ones but you cannot see the little bit of light that comes from them unless it is night. And well that just does not provide for the best lighting for picture taking!

Painting jars is super easy! I have a tutorial here!

You can see the candle light a bit here. I put tea lights in the jars but I think I need to add a larger candle, maybe a votive will work better.

I may add some branches to the tall vase and make a Thankful Tree! I found this one via Pinterest!! We will see if I get to that!

I am thankful I have a home to decorate and enjoy!!

Fall “Mantel”

Over the weekend I finally finished my Fall “Mantel!” Now I use the term “mantel” loosely as the area I am referring to is the half-wall between the family room and playroom but “mantel” is just easier!

So here it is!!!

I wanted to do some more but I also need to start working on Halloween so that I can have all that done and ready to go by the end of September. So for this year this is all the Fall but this is a start! I am excited to have pretties sitting on the flat surface instead of stacks like usual. I truly hope this will keep me from stacking on this space, we will see.

Here is a break down of what is up and links to the projects either here on my blog or a link to the blog where I found the idea.

1. A FALL sign I made last year. Super easy just mod podge and leftover scrapbook paper.

2. Painted Mason Jars

3. Fall Paper Flower

4. Fall Frame

5. Fall Subway Art - Free download! (this is the only money I spent on the mantel, I paid for the printing, everything else was done from what I had on hand!)

6. Felt Leaves – I found these on Made, Dana has a great tutorial and they were super easy! I strung together 6 leaves to make a garland across the top. These will be on the only pretty “falling” leaves we will see here!

So there you go Fall Mantel is done! Thank you for this blog cause with the blog I actually followed through on the project and finished! Enjoy the pictures and I hope this inspires you to get some Fall into your home!
